How Stuama.ie is funded, which links involve a commercial relationship, and how those relationships are kept separate from our content.

How Stuama.ie may earn money

Stuama.ie does not charge readers and does not currently carry advertising. Researching, writing and maintaining the site takes time and money, and part of that may be funded through routes to related or partner services.

Stuama.ie is operated by Paul Hudson, trading as Magenta Online Marketing. When a reader follows one of these routes and goes on to make an enquiry or take out a product or service, the operator may be paid or gain commercially in some other way. We explain this so you can weigh our content with it in mind.

Business insurance and CompareInsuranceIreland.ie

Business insurance comparisons and quote requests are provided through CompareInsuranceIreland.ie.

Stuama.ie’s Business Insurance page and insurance guides are general information and research content. They explain types of cover, what affects the price and how to compare policies. Stuama.ie itself does not:

  • provide insurance quotes;
  • recommend a particular insurer or policy for your business;
  • arrange cover or act as an insurance intermediary;
  • handle claims.

When you select a “Compare business insurance” link, you leave Stuama.ie and continue on CompareInsuranceIreland.ie. CompareInsuranceIreland.ie is a separate website with the same operator as Stuama.ie, so it is a related service rather than an external partner. CompareInsuranceIreland.ie’s own terms and policies apply to anything you do there, and we recommend reading them before you submit an enquiry. Not every insurer in Ireland is necessarily compared, and you are always free to approach insurers or brokers directly.

Card payments, accounting software and business websites

Stuama.ie is not a partner of any card payment or accounting software provider named in its comparisons, and our business websites content compares types of solution rather than named providers. Links to providers’ own websites, such as their pricing or help pages, are ordinary reference links, included so that you can check prices and terms at the source. Stuama.ie does not receive payment when you follow them.

Does this affect what you pay?

Stuama.ie does not sell any product or service and does not set or add to any price. Prices, fees and premiums are set by the provider or insurer concerned, based on its own terms and its assessment of your business. Always check the full price and terms before you agree to anything.

How commercial relationships affect our content

They should not affect what we publish as fact. Our policy is that a provider or partner cannot approve, edit or change the factual information on Stuama.ie, and a commercial relationship does not entitle anyone to more favourable coverage. The same applies to CompareInsuranceIreland.ie: what Stuama.ie publishes about business insurance is an editorial decision, made under our Editorial Standards.

Providers without a commercial relationship

Apart from the business insurance route described above, none of the providers mentioned on Stuama.ie has a commercial relationship with us. Providers are included because they are relevant to businesses in Ireland, not because of any arrangement, and inclusion is not a recommendation. A provider without a commercial relationship is treated on the same factual basis as any other.

At present, no provider has paid to be included, ranked or featured on Stuama.ie, and the site has no sponsored content. If that ever changes, the page concerned will say so clearly and this page will be updated. Where providers are listed in a comparison, the page states the order used.

How commercial links are identified

Where a link leads to a related or partner service, we say so in plain English next to the link, naming the service that will handle your enquiry. On our business insurance pages, for example, the comparison links are accompanied by the sentence: “Business insurance comparisons and quote requests are provided through CompareInsuranceIreland.ie.” If we add a new commercial relationship, we will name it on this page and on the pages where it applies.
